How To: Make Chrome the Default Browser in iOS

1

BrowserChooser

It has only been a day since the Google Chrome browser has come to iOS and there is already a very useful Cydia tweak available to the public. With the tweak, BrowserChooser, from developer Ryan Petrich, you have the option to make Chrom your default web browser.

As expected, the tweak works just as advertised. This tweak will open up links from Messages, Mail, Twitter, etc, and they will all open up directly in the Chrome browser.

To install the BrowserChooser tweak, you will need to need the following repo: rpetri.ch/repo. If you are new to Cydia and don’t know how to add a source, you just simply open up Cydia and then tap Manage > Sources > Edit > Add, and then type in the repo.

Once you have added the source, search for BrowserChooser and install it. You can also head over the settings app on your device and find the settings for BrowserChooser, you can then switch between Chrome and Safari for whatever default browser you want.
