Google Maps For iOS Downloaded Over 10 Million Times in First Two Days
When Google Maps was released on iOS just a few days ago, most people were ecstatic! The amount of downloads proved the fact that most iOS users were either not impressed with Apple’s new Maps application, which was introduced with iOS 6, or they just preferred Google Maps for what could’ve been a plethora of reasons.
The Google Maps application topped the free apps chart within a few hours of release and is still there today with no sign of slowing down.
Today, Google senior vice president of Commerce, Jeff Huber, posted on Google+ that the app saw over ten million downloads in the first 48 hours of release.
More than 10 million downloads in less than 48 hours after release!
We’re excited for the positive reception of Google Maps for iPhone around the world. Congratulations to the Maps Team on the recognition for the passion and hard work they poured into it, for this release and over the last 7+ years.
Those are some nice numbers! Now let’s see how Google’s latest app YouTube Capture does.
